According to App Annie analysts, VK, BOOM (developed by United Media Agency) and Odnoklassniki (OK) took the top three spots among iOS apps in terms of consumer spend for Russian users in the period between January through May, 2018.
Mail.Ru Group is creating Russia’s largest licensed digital music ecosystem as users are leaning towards licensed content. Social networks are providing optional music subscriptions, and in June, 2018 the number of active paid and trial subscribers reached 1.5 million within the VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and BOOM apps. Access to the largest music libraries of all genres enables users to listen to their favorite tracks and latest releases, share songs and playlists with friends, discover new artists and their work through the personal recommendations system.
One of the factors of revenue growth is a surging mobile audience. In 2017, OK’s monthly mobile-only audience continued growing and added 17%, while the volume of payments through OK’s iOS app increased by 40%.
